Protective Tattoo Wrap

When you’ve got home with your wrap on here’s what to do next

The first piece of wrap can be left on the skin up to 24 hours, the exact time will depend on the amount of fluids that the wound exudes: this will vary from person to person. In case of copious bleeding or weeping,

The film can be replaced with another piece before 24 hours (a change after 4, 6 or 8 hours is also possible). In most cases people choose to wear the first piece for the first 24 hours, but it is advisable to change it whenever it gets dirty, too loose or full of liquids.

Changing the wrap

When removing the film, make sure to carefully wash the area with soap and water, and let the tattoo dry in the air.

Apply a thin layer of a natural non-mineral oil such as coconut oil to the tattoo to ensure a moist healing under the Dermalize bandage. This will also make it easier to remove it later on. (Make sure the coconut oil is brand new, clean and not grimy)

Apply the second layer of wrap I supplied to you as I explained in your appointment

This second application can be kept on for a variable amount of time - up to 5 further days

The total suggested use of wrap, covering all applications, is between 6 and 7 days. Don’t leave it on longer than this.

If you are at all concerned that you might have an allergic reaction, an infection or if the area becomes at all red - remove the film and seek medical advice
